In March 2020, Dr. Elaine Chin founded the Masking Together Challenge in response to supporting front line workers during the beginning of the pandemic. Together as a community, Campaign #1 raised almost $200,000 for the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. In recognition of her effort, Dr. Chin received the Arbour Award from her alma mater.

As the pandemic evolved, so did the campaign’s approach. COVID-19 showcased inequities in access to PPE for many of Canada’s most vulnerable populations. The people who take care of them, in our shelters and on the streets, are the Invisible Frontline. Campaign #2 has successfully connected vulnerable communities to PPE resources needed to stay safe with over $125,000 donated to date.
